Getting ready to leave the studio

A new group of flutters is being prepared for release.
Each one is photographed and documented before it leaves—assigned a number, paired with its record, and added to the catalog.
There’s a point in the process where they shift from being objects in the studio to something else entirely.
Not finished, exactly. Just… no longer mine.
They’re still here for now, gathered together, but not for long.
Soon they’ll be in other hands, in other places, becoming part of something I won’t see.
