K–2 artists colored their books and created covers to prepare for reading their stories to their birds. This activity helped them practice storytelling by thinking about characters, order of events, and how their ideas can be shared before we begin building our 3D worlds. Students who finished early made eggs to take home to their birds. Each artist also received a teeny tiny book to draw in and share with their bird at home.
3–5 continued developing their imaginative worlds. They’ve been asking thoughtful and creative questions about how to bring their ideas to life, and it has been wonderful to see how unique each project is.

K–2 artists began painting the backgrounds for their pop-up worlds, focusing on creating strong settings that will help their characters stand out. Next week, we will begin creating the characters that inhabit these worlds.
3–5 artists continued building their worlds, incorporating 3D elements and characters. Their projects are progressing beautifully.
